Youth Splash & Dash presented by the Ohio University Patton College of Education
This race provides youth between the ages 7-18 with exposure to the sport of triathlon. A Splash and Dash is a fun and fast-growing sport that combines swimming and running. Registrants between the ages 7-10 will conduct a 100 meter swim and a 1 kilometer run, while ages 11-15 will complete a 200m swim and a 2k run, and ages 16-18 will compete in a 300m swim and a 3k run. The focus is on participation rather than competition. This event will expose youth participants to the exciting world of multi-sport! The Splash & Dash begins at the Ohio University Aquatic Center on Friday evening at 5:30pm. After completing the swim inside the Aquatic Center, participants will put on their running shoes and exit the building. After exiting the aquatics center participants will run the sidewalks in a counter-clockwise direction circling the Aquatics Center, Bird Area, and Grover Center finishing at the south end of the Grover Center. All splash and dash participants will receive a finishers medal.
On Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27, Bobcat Swim Club will be hosting a Fitter & Faster Swim Clinic. The swim instructors include Olympians, NCAA Champions, and elite-level coaches who are committed to teaching, mentoring, and giving back.
