Carol Hart Stotts Bowser was a lifelong resident of Athens County and was a member of the historical society’s First Families of Athens County. She passed away in 2011. Her family has been honoring her memory by participating in Race for a Reason for the eighth year. Several of Carol’s grandchildren and great grandchildren attend Athens City Schools and funds raised will be donated to the schools’ student activity groups.
