Youth Splash & Dash presented by the Ohio University Patton College of Education
A new addition last year this race provides youth between the ages 7-15 with exposure to the sport of triathlon. A Splash and Dash is a fun and fast-growing sport that combines swimming and running. Registrants between the ages 7-10 will conduct a 100 meter Swim and a 1 Kilometer Run, while ages 11-15 will complete a 200 meter Swim and a 2 Kilometer Run. The focus is on participation rather than competition. This event will expose youth participants to USA Triathlon and the exciting world of multisport! All participants must possess a $10 USA Triathlon annual youth membership which can be purchased during the registration process. The Splash & Dash begins at the Ohio University Aquatic Center on Friday evening at 7:15pm. After completing the swim inside the Aquatic Center, participants will put on their running shoes and exit the building. After exiting the aquatics center participants will run the sidewalks in a counter-clockwise direction circling the Aquatics Center, Bird Area, and Grover Center finishing at the south end of the Grover Center. All splash and dash participants will receive a finishers medal.
